The US can’t subsidize an EV enough to simultaneously manufacture it here, with good union wages, and produce a product the average US driver wants to own at a price they can afford in numbers that matter.
Besides:… A cheap, but adequate transportation vehicle should be a boon to the world….
Back in the early 1800’s people up north wanted cotton and they said about the same things of the slaves in the south who were forced to pick it. It doesn’t “work for them” it’s their only option.
