I think that the "are you willing to be an SO" question is to test your commitment to Cathay. I have heard of instances of guys getting a DEFO interview and getting offered a SO position, maybe due to the sim performance but they really liked the guy otherwise, or maybe the review board thought his experience was a little low...really could be anything and the people in the know are not talking. The opposite has happened as well, DESO interview but offered a FO position. Don;t think it is a timing issue at all and I also believe that they are getting plenty of applicants for both DESO and FO, but are they the applicants that CX wants....who knows, again they aren't talking.

US based pilots, PAX and cargo, work for a company called USA Basing Ltd. It is a paper Hong Kong company but supposedly has offices in Vancouver BC. I actually resigned from Cathay Pacific on my first day with the company and then was immediately offered employment by USAB (I made sure that I signed the offer letter first!!).

Just curious, why would the address of the company be a concern?
