By the time the newhire assigned a captain slot got out of training, flew 350 hrs in the right seat, goes through full course upgrade training, and then flies 100 hrs of Captain ioe almost everyone would be ready. A lot of airlines have first year upgrades without 100 hrs of ioe and I don't see check airman here signing someone off who isn't ready. I don't love it but I think it is a lot to do about nothing in the grand scheme of things. Throwing LTD people that are already out under the bus, 95 hr cap with a sick call, reduced premium pay for senior FO's... all rub me wrong. I am a soft yes but still working through it.
you do realize it’s the same MEC that approved the AIP (unanimously?) after getting briefed by the negotiating committee a month ago. If they vote this down those who voted NO will be recalled and this whole process will stretch through next year.
