I’m mostly kidding with that comment….but it’s also basically accurate.
Quite a few of us were THRILLED to get hired here, regardless of the crappy assignment we were stuck with for the first 2 years. I had to commute to FO reserve…halfway across the country…for the entire 2 years….and I LIVE in a United domicile. Nobody paid me $300k a year to do it. I was still ecstatic to get my chance.

There’s a lot of truth to that. My QoL from this contract won’t improve at all and I’ll probably make less money with the loss of PPU. But a forced upgrade to a young new hire would really be a QoL killer for them.
