Is it worth upgrading into a different aircraft as PIC and gaining TPIC experience to help my application/resume? This would cause me to have to stop flying for roughly 3-4 months in order to go through upgrade training and get a new type rating. I know that 1000 turbine is “preferred” and just trying to get on with American as quickly as possible. Thanks!
Not sure how they feel about 135 time but I got hired with 800 turbine/121 and no TPIC. If I were you, I would apply now and see if you get any traction. If you don’t in about six months, I’d plan to upgrade. If you can get some sort of meet and greet, you can ask the recruiter yourself what you need to do to be more competitive.
