Going forward both single- and double-breasted will be allowed. So there's goes the concept of "uniformity" out the window, although that flew out the window with the FA's a long time ago. When it come to the new uniforms each pilot will be able to choose which one they want. One poll I saw showed roughly 2/3 were going to opt for double and 1/3 were single.
There will also be a transition period. For months we will see both old and new. We will go from iconic to "who do you fly for?" This will get interesting on the 3 man crews. Individuality rules. I'd carry all 3 just to be the counterculture representative.
