As the snowflake liberal big government cheerleader of the group, I do think the company got a little heavy-handed on the vax stuff. It’s far from a “make or break” issue for me, but it is for some people, & that’s fine. This is how democratic systems work. It’s the aggregate- not the individual- that determines outcomes.

Aside from that, the GUM thing is a legitimate concern, even if it doesn’t affect you directly, & there is a significant minority who are concerned about the 8-F-12 language. If you read the IAH letter, they requested a quick amendment to some of that language but there was not a procedural way to accomplish that so they voted no. There were more yes votes & the resolution passed. That’s not abuse of the system- that’s the system at work.

All that having been said, and supposing you are right that this really is all just about a single issue, I’d argue that there are a lot of single issue (Section 3) yes voters out there, but in the end, why does that matter? Everyone votes for what is most important to them & then we tally the votes.

No one who has raised concerns over this contract has in any way delayed the process. You won’t get your retro check any sooner if the dissenters stay silent, so I don’t see what harm is being done here.
