None of the TSA agents even looked to see what happened, even though it was a loud crash when it hit the floor.
As I picked up the pieces I asked to talk to a supervisor. One finally came over and I explained what happened. He handed me a tiny scrap of paper with the tsa website on it and told me to file a claim. After filing my claim and several follow-ups, I was denied any compensation for my loss (my hard drive crashed and I lost everything.)
That truly disgusts me. I read this post earlier and was thinking about it as I went through security this evening. You must be a calm collective person to not absolutely flip out. Your laptop was ruined due to TSA's negligence.
As for the topic of this thread, I had a TSA agent come and try to pull me out of line for not having a boarding pass in my hand. I just happened to print out a boarding pass from home. For anyone who commutes on CAL, if there are tons of open seats on the day of departure, they will go ahead and assign you a seat. That is the ONLY reason I had the boarding pass on me. I would have missed the flight otherwise. I do not understand why we are treated like the enemy..
