Are you sure about that? How many Aviate students are flying mainline today? D225 has at least a hundfull at SWA now, earliest being an April start if I recall.
most of that handfull, if not all, most likely came through the "Military Currency" pathway of the D225 program. For a retiring military aviator who has the hours but spent their final couple of tours flying a desk, and just need to get current and maybe also get their ATP, they can complete a tailored program in just a few months and go straight into a NH class, and that's considered part of the D225 program. Unlike the basic cadet pathway which requires a year or two at a "partner" carrier to build hours.
