if your wife can hold it for 6 months you’ll qualify for NYPFL in LGA. Guessing similar situations in California and Mass for their state benefits. better than FMLA. If the due date is before 6 months from hire i believe you can still take it once you hit that mark after the baby is born. Works out to be 12 weeks block leave or up 60 individual days of intermission leave. Its awesome.
Similar situation, new hire with baby due Dec, I'll be on property 4 months at that time, chose LGA, or it was mostly chosen for me and decided not to bid anywhere else due to the NYPFL, eligible at 6 months- its days to be used in whatever increments you want, and has to be used within 12 months of baby birth, so you'll have time to make it work. The LGA reps are informed on it and will help you set it up and work with you.
