My family has tended to marry late and have kids late. I have no grandkids (biologically possible, just barely), but one gate agent recently commented that I'm older than her grandmother. Guess it was an oblique compliment since she didn't think I looked that old.
I have 3 stepdaughters so you think I'd have at least 1 step-grandchild. Nope. It just worked out that none of them ever had any kids and now they're all too old. Between the 3 of them they've had 9 spouses, number two was the overachiever with 5. We warned her we were just going to start calling them by their number instead of trying to remember their name.
