You appear to be in this for yourself. So the lens you view everyone else is that they must be in it for themselves. Thus, you deduce that I live near a current base.

I am viewing this for what is good and what is bad for the whole pilot group.
This is the DEFINITION of a concession, because the company is getting to open new bases without following the contractual process. Just like flying the 800s for free. Just like losing premium for a sick call. Just like DTCs.
The pilot group got nothing in return except promises of “explosive growth” and a 3 hour callout for a 4 hour drive.

We’ll know for sure how the pilot group feels about this when it’s missing from TA2. I don’t know who RJxxx is but he’s emotionally invested in this for some reason. I was for it at first but there’s no true potential benefit to anyone who doesn’t live near IAH or ORD, and even then it’s minimal at best.
