He may be right. But keep in mind, he may be 1 year senior to you. Right now, that means ~2300 numbers. Almost 5,000 if he's 2 years ahead of you.

As for me... I got hired at the end of "the last wave".

Pilots 1000 junior to me were hired 7 years, 9 months after me.
Pilots 1000 senior to me were hired 11 months before me.

I would speculate that, currently, we are not far from the "end of the wave".

No complaints. My career has been good, considering all factors.
