So how many pairs of shoes should I carry on a 4 day donestic or 3 day Eurotrip oh wise sage of the runway?

I commute up in my work shoes. Usually in uniform because TSA.

This is my bag loadout for a 4 day, three overnight
4 white Ts
4 black socks
4 white socks (workout)
8 underwear
4 workout/go out T shirts.
3 pairs workout shorts
1 polo
1 pair jeans or khakis depending on where Im going.
1 pair non work out shorts (usually cargo)
1 hoodie or jacket if cold enough
That plus medical stuff is my 22 roller. It's full.

Square "duffle"
running shoes (New Balance 993s, there isn't a lot of choice in 17EE)
Toiletry bag
Personal tablet
Bag of power adapters and extension cord (I have medical stuff with very specific power requirements)
Spoiler

little cooler carries certificates, work ipad, headset and temperature restricted medications and syringes/sharps container.

How the F do you propose I bring yet another pair of shoes

Not once been denied service in a Bistro in Paris or a Cafe in Munich. I usually order in French or German. Correctly.

But oh no. I'm wearing THE WRONG SHOES!
