It’s a union negotiated item agreed upon with management, not controlled. There’s a difference. If someone is making money for the company and profit sharing exists with that group then they should see the fruits of their labors. It’s something I let my reps know is important to me and want to see in the contract. Not a fan of pulling ladders up.
It’s simple why new hires don’t get it. The union does not want new hires to get it. New hires that are on property less than one year don’t pay dues, therefore alpa will not collect any dues money paid out to probationary pilots.
