Try the Alex AI tool thing on the open enrollment site. It gives you some options to compare the plans side by side as well as estimate some costs based on your inputs (ER visits, prescriptions, etc). It does have some flaws but gives you at least a clue of what you might have to pay. For example, it didn't give me a rundown of what the DPMP would cost and it kept insisting I put my out of pocket healthcare costs towards an FSA (even though you only get a limited FSA for dental and vision on the HSA eligible plans).

The way I see it, you'll have to spend roughly $5,500 out of picket on the silver before the gold/DP-HDP is more advantageous. Based on roughly $2500 premium difference and $3000 family deductible on DP-HDP.

But yeah, you'll could get burned if you have more unexpected expenses... depends on what kind of cash and financial/health risks you want to take.
