Tell you what. When you fly with someone who talks like this, stifle your laughter, and ask about their involvement in the union. Half the time it’s someone who has never volunteered or represented anyone in ALPA and just hate unions, but also ironically lose their minds that their union didn’t get them more (see recent post about abandoning them with the 4th pillar).
The other half of the time they will eventually share that they and their friends were voted out by some shady back room politics(not saying that DALPA politics aren’t petty and stupid because they shockingly are). These pilots will provide some insight into the personalities of the reps and MEC officers but you have to filter through the obvious bias.
