How much you fly can also be a function of drive and creativity. Some are much better than others at working the system to their advantage. Open time, trip trades, split trades etc.. For example, system wide, there are 1292:01 block hours in open time for FO's in Nov.(CrewTrack) Are you wiling to commute to another base to get more hours? I've done this a few times to make a little extra scratch.
This is not reserve utilization but how many block hours per month (FO summarized for >70 hours.) Top 5
According to the aforementioned podcast...for October...
CMH 48% of the FO's got more than 70 block hours for the month
DCA 59% of the FO's got more than 70 block hours for the month
IND 42%
PIT 50%
SDF 53%
I'm guessing this changes a lot from month to month? Not sure, first time I ever really looked at it.
Just watched the podcast and reserve times across the board up to a year? Biggest shock was Indy going from 8 months to 13 for a line on the FO side.
