On the flip side looking at what the commute / QOL would be to live in Boise but be Seattle based. Trying to decide if that would be worth it or if my wife and I would be better off looking at SEA or PDX.
I was told at a career fair last month that training should start to see an uptick, hoping that is the case. Thanks for any input!
Well as someone who’s been here for a year and now just about to get Seattle based, I would say you won’t have to worry about being Seattle based out of training. It’s by far the most senior base for FOs currently. If Boise is what you’re looking for, you won’t have to fight too many people to get there. As for flying on reserve, someone based there may have to chime in to to give you the details on that. My biggest recommendation is, if you can live in base, choose that. The commuting and crash padding isn’t great QOL. But that’s an airline wide philosophy. Live in base = Higher QOL.
