For added context, if it matters. On my way out, CJO in hand, class date offer was a bit later than I expected. Is it a pretty bad look to call out for a PC, then submit a 2 weeks notice a week or two later? Or would it be better to tender a resignation and have my two weeks be the day before I’d DH out for training? I’d rather not go through a major jeopardy event for probation RPC here in a couple weeks. And also want to keep my head down, I know there was something last year or two about threatening to terminate pilots for sick calls in the holiday season?
FWIW, I called out for PC when I was awaiting a class date, and then gave my notice 2 weeks later. No issues at all, definitely use the sick time you've accrued because you won't be paid out for it. My major concern was getting my class date canceled before starting the new job, but I did enjoy the time off.
Honestly think it's better for both sides; company doesn't waste sim resources and you avoid a jeopardy event.
