I still haven't gotten a call to interview and I'm wondering if there's anything left that I can do. Is my lack of 121 and jet time that much of a hurdle or do I just need to stay patient? I have 6500 TT, 4100 METPIC, college degree, instructor pilot at my current job and previous airline and companines and a bunch of other special mission qualifications. Alaska is my top choice but my timeline for the next few months makes me wonder if it's time to start pursuing number 2 and 3 on my personal list.
Your story has happened over and over and over at Alaska. They're weird that way. People who are well-qualified and well-connected have waited literally years for a call from Alaska. I'm one of them. A few yeas ago, they finally called me for a meet & greet. From that, told me I'd get a call for an interview "in a few weeks". Weeks turned to months. Got an email that said they weren't running any more classes over the summer but would start up again in the fall. Got an email in the fall that said, "Please reapply." I said, "Screw you, I'm done playing this stupid game."
Go with whoever calls you. Don't wait for Alaska. That call may never come.
