FWIW, the "Global Cleanliness Standard" on DLnet (which is wholly ignored by every single cleaning crew) says the cleaners are not to clean the lav with passengers on board. I guess if they go in and close the door behind them, noone really knows, but still. Just another document which is not enforced.
The critical path to turning an airplane is the cabin cleaners. Nothing else. Airplanes with a 2L door have a distinct advantage in that the cleaners can do first class first while gulag class is still deplaning, and when they move back there, first can be boarded. But alas, SWA doesn't fly anything with a 2L door, so Boeing gave up on that as well. Just one more reason why the 757 is the best airplane Boeing has built in the last 50 years.
Your argument is interesting though. I don't know without taking a poll whether or not cleaners cost more than we gain. I doubt seriously whether either moves the needle much tbh.
