Ted kept his job when he oversaw the bankruptcy at his last two airlines. They will keep Ted through the process; the irony being, he is an expert and seeing an airline through Chapter 11.
Except this time he is in charge when the bankruptcy potentially happens.... He's not some CFO anymore.
