The pension was not being terminated but it was in fact being sunset and any future increases to retirement monies would of course come into the new plan, which for even those who stayed in the pension could benefit from if we increase the 9% part of the plan and/or raise the IRS cap or eliminate it completely. Anyone remaining in the plan would and should have had no expectation that there would need to be any increase in that plan.

BTW, didn't you post most of this "information" on another thread ? I can't seem to locate that thread anymore but I know I read most of your thoughts recently, odd.
That's because the mods are deleting posts. Why 🤷🏾‍♂️?
Lregarding the retirement it was well explained how it was intended to work. People understand it and don't like it. Sunsetting the A plan should. Have had a much much higher cost to the company and the "gains" presented in TA1 didn't even come close to representing that value for most.

I dont really like the analogy used by the OP but the point he's driving at has merit. Our pilot group is full of pilots constantly advocating for the companys positions. Telling us this is what the company will do and this is what they wont do. They will shout to the roof tops about how we "have no leverage" and the dire consequences of doing something they may not like. Its weak sauce and people are tired of it. The NC is the personification of the sentiments of those pilots. None of them want to fight with management to get what we have earned but they will gleefully mock challenge intimidate and cajole other members of this union.

I'm gonna say it again this union is amongst the weakest ive ever seen and certainly been apart of after 25 years in alpa.

It seems there is momentum for change but the pervasive mind setup of the past will not relent without a fight and that's a shame because a win for those campaiging for better and more will benefit them as welll. It will also put management on notice that we arent giving anything away anymore.
