I know it's the senior pilot's WS, but I would think a fellow pilot would want to help another pilot get their fair share from the company since they insist on making us use the PB days in this manner. They can still get the trip and the other pilot gets $$$. Unfortunately some people just don't really care. I would say that person is kind of a DB. Hasn't affected me too greatly, but it just seems gauche to call a win for yourself when both people can have what they want.
I am not sure what all the fuss is all about. Simple solution - if the senior pilot wants to fly the trip and he WS'd the trip in the middle of PB day recycling couldn't the junior pilot just text him and explain whats going on. They become Micrew friends and then they complete the process. The guy trying to use his PB days doesn't care who he is working with - either way he gets to burn his PB days and the senior Pilot can just keep WS'ing the trip. I would assume the Pilot burning his PB days would offer the trip to the senior Pilot who WS'd it at the end since he played ball. Everyone comes out a winner.
