I am retiring from AA soon and looking at options.
The training is like old school AA. Lots of memory items and briefing. Very thorough but more "complex" than current AA training and ops.

Now, we go a lot of places that are challenging so I get the aggressively safe culture.

I'm still doing IOE so I can't comment on line flying. I think it will be good. Lots of changes in what you're doing from day to day but everything is well organized and you have your flight plans, hotels and catering lined up. No "Biz Hero Activated" here. Some days are long--today was an extended duty day. But, my check airman says they try to give you an easy day following to make up for it.

I just want to be free from the clutches of training, get on my 8/6 schedule and get on with my life. Meeting other Flex pilots on the road has been very positive. It's a good environment.

Stay in touch and let me know what you're looking at when you leave AA.
