In my best Homer Simpson Voice "Stupid tranverse mounted engine!!!!!" Well to get to the rear 3 plugs you have to pull the windshiled wipers, windshield wiper motor, whole windshield wiper bay, intake manifold, a support bracket, and whatever else I am forgetting.
But it was fun.

MX shops are no panacea. Car went into limp mode, so I tossed my scanner on it. Said “low turbo boost”, so I pop the hood and look for the obvious. The intake manifold had come apart and had a hole you could put your fist through. Getting it in and out looked complicated, so I took it to shop and told them what the problem was.
3 days later I get a call “well, we’ve confirmed that the intake duct is the issue, and we’re going to order the part”. I’m like “Really? What gave it away?”. I get that they have all kinds of people coming in claiming all kinds of issues, but this was pretty obvious. It’s otherwise a pretty good shop.
