787's are in the future for Alaska/Hawaiian. Not sure exactly how it will pan out, but SEA is a great gateway for flights into the EU.
If you're originating in Alaska, or live in WA or OR, sure. But aside from that...I can't imagine how SEA is a desirable hub for US-EU flying.. If you're in CA, you've got a zillion options out of LAX/SFO. Mountain West, there's Denver. Anyone living east of about Spokane can just hop to DEN or ORD and then onto the EU.
Now for Pacific Rim destinations, sure. But Europe? I kinda don't see it...
