I've heard of several pilots with seniority leaving American for Delta but not United. In my particlar case I live in Chicago and it seems like you win either way with UAL or AA.
Yes, every one of the Big 3 is hiring from each other. If you live in ORD United has a bigger w/b presence in ORD than AA does. That's a long term attraction.
AA actually has more influx from other airlines, or at least did in 2022, than are leaving to other airlines. In the first 3 months of the seniority year (July-September) 27 guys resigned from AA. Year of hire - 2019 - 1, 2020 - 2, 2022 - 4, 2023 - 20.
Guys pursuing a better domicile is very common into today's hiring market. Losing 9 a month while hiring 200+ is less than a 4% turnover.
