I just went through this in the last month too. Coming from an old Telex 850 to the Airbus, the plug converter wasn’t doing the job.
I bought the pro flight 2 (based on the raving reviews you’re seeing here) and did NOT like it. I think it’s a personal preference thing but I’m with DryClutch, too many dangling pieces and also more of a PITA to put on/off - ie 3 movements instead of one. 1) headband on 2) outboard ear plug 3) inboard earplug once we’re on IC. Reverse step 3 anytime we need to talk to an FA, or whatever (don’t like the tap to hear through functionality)
Bought an A30 and immediately liked it way better. Good noise canceling on both.
I’m trying to envision the tangled mess the PF2’s would be in an O2 mask event as well. Almost to the point that I don’t think it would work (for me) in the chaos. A30’s are a traditional headset, so off, mask on, back on, and done.
If you order direct from Bose it’s a 90 day no questions return policy, so why not try them both and see which you like. I’ve flown the 737 before and could see either being fine from a noise canceling angle.
I don’t think they’re selling A20’s anymore. A30 FTW.
