Maybe like 5 on 2 off Thursday to Tuesday with the reserve shift starting at 4pm or 3am? I've read on here that United's reserve rules are rough but it's not as bad if you live in base. I live in Chicago.
Work your 17 days in any legal combination that you wish (and can hold). Probably working weekends for a little while. Day 1 no reports before 10 AM (meaning they can assign you on your last day off for an assignment the next day) If not assigned on the last day of your rsv stretch you're auto released at 6 AM. Can be busy in the summer....but I've flown only one single day in December so far and it's looking likely that'll be it. If I lived local it's all I'd do. I commute and I don't think it's bad at all (not the popular opinion). At least in the winter....I wake up at home on day one of a rsv stretch....I"ll try and APU a short call that allows me to commute in the next day...play it from there. If you live local it's nothing to stress IMO.
