I'm the the F9 Cadet program and living in the DC area (NoVA). I've been here about 13 years. The drive to Philly can be an easy 2.5 hour trip or it can be a 3-4 of unadulterated brain damage. That being said, my hope is to commute to PHL and see how it goes. If you can position yourself on the north side of town or even out by Annapolis, the drive isn't hateful. Annapolis to Philadelphia on 301->95 is a cake walk.
