Because like all politicians, well paid politicians, they love a fight, the time they feel they really matter. Although they do a really good job most of the time defending us, when our case are defendable. But right now one of them is shinning, after being shamed by the pilot group a few years ago, he's getting his revenge and his place back under the spotlights, he can try to burn Rome again.
The union leadership has thousands of survey answers directly from the pilots they represent that say you are dead wrong- the pilots would not have ratified the POS. The majority have made it clear that they want way more base salary and QOL improvements, along with NO concessions. Putting that to a vote would have just let them guage how much higher they had to go to get a yes for the minimum requires. This has been explained many times before, but you either refuse to listen or you are management or in bed with management. The current leadership listens to the MAJORITY, not just the loudest few and steers the ship in that direction. The group has wanted aggression and lots more than what was offered for the last year and that is the direction we are heading. There is another survey going on right now. If the majority tell the leadership to cave in, you will get your wish since they do follow the will of the group.
