Well Slap, guys negotiated the contract for a reason. They wanted job protection, and that's not guaranteed with the SkyWest buyout. Accepting it or denying it are both a role of the dice. J.A. knows he can't get what he wants(whipsawing) as long as the clause remains in the contract. If the ExpressJet BOD(not the union or the pilot group) accepts another offer, then the ExpressJet MEC will be approached to negotiate something. It is their job to do what is in the best interest of the pilots, not managment. There's no guarantee that they won't find homes for those airplanes if CAL pulls them, but there is no guarantee that they will. I have no dog in the fight, but I have a lot of friends at ExpressJet.
