Exactly! The program is kinda pointless for AD, IMO.

For quite a few, the same 50,000/year is offered in the reserves for AGR slots. Why anyone would stay AD when they could transition to the reserves and then CHOOSE to either participate full time and still get an AD retirement ,or, participate part time is interesting.
In my case, I left AD...picked up a seniority number...picked up an AGR gig that takes me through AD retirement (with bonus). My plan had been to do 20 then get out, but "big blue" was putting some options on the table that just were not palatable to the family at the time.
