It's interesting to compare what Fauci said then with what he now claims he said then. And the actual effectiveness and longevity of COVID immunizations with what it was originspally claimed they Woukd do.

Don't get me wrong, for those at serious risk, it was unequivocally a good thing to have their first exposure to COVID-19 be through immunization, but the idea they were somehow going to keep other people from getting it in herd immunity fashion was always an epidemiological fantasy. Neither the duration of immunity from infection nor the degree of immunity from infection of any of the vaccines was even close to enough to prevent that. And all that Draconian pushing people never had a chance of working. To this date 20% of the world's population have never taken the immunization (although the vast majority of those by this time have had it and recovered - by now probably two or three times. And of the other 80%, many of those were never fully immunized and even of those who were, many got Sinovax and other vaccines of lesser efficacy.

While science wasn't on the side of the antivax zealots neither was it on the side of the Brown Shirt pro vax zealots as well.
