You are fine. But internal recommendations count for a lot here. And it's not that big a company. Keep applying. They do look for people who will fit in with the culture here and that just isn't everyone. Don't ask me how they choose, but they seem to do a pretty good job. Most folks who stick it out here are great people to work with.
