The timing of this couldn't have been worse. The optics of coming out with this right after the Alaska incident, literally you could count it in hours.

Anyone with any sense of the presence of the world outside their tiny cubical would have known to hold off on making this announcement until after the dust settles a bit on Boeing hiring complete idiots to put on doors that aren't doors and forgetting the bolts. And then going completely off the rails and not checking the 3rd party work before slapping a pass sticker on it and yelling "SEND IT".

You'd think the FAA would be pushing the idea to the public that safety was the number one priority instead of who can we move to the front of the line to hire based on how broken they are. But NOooooo lets ignore all that safety of the public for literally this.
