Kirby knew this, Kirby knew that. You Rhapsody Blue Kool-Aid drinkers are so funny man. Kirby knew going all in on a massive Boeing order would blow up in his face? 24 Max order delays in 2023, expected to be even more delays for 2024, 150 Max 10’s delayed at least 5 years, probably significantly longer than 5. But sure he’s got so much leverage right? what leverage is that exactly? the demand for new aircraft is historic. If he walks away from the deal Boeing would probably make more profit when someone else scoops the order up at a premium. He’s not getting a sweeter deal on MAX 9’s.

United Next was always a huge and reckless bet that Boeing would get their act together fast. Kirby got it completely wrong. He was also wrong with the aisle seats boarding last. That’s turned out to a be a total dud. He should step down and let a DEI respected candidate take the wheel. He said it himself, we need more DEI leadership.
