Why don't you try this if you are still wondering 'what would I miss if I didn't live in AUS?'. Rent a place in AUS for a month. Then you could really get a feel for the city, explore the sights, etc. AND try out the commute for a bit. I know you said you've commuted previously but you can still compare the AUS commute to driving to work in ATL.

When you're done doing that take some time to explore all around ATL. It's a big city with a lot of different types of places to live. See if you still want to commit to commuting for the rest of your career after that.
