I started at Air Wisconsin over a decade ago and all I would hear on a daily basis was how after the contract with USAir and then American expires in 2015, you’re going to be out of a job. So I would worry about that for a good five years and then the contract got extended two years and then it was….you’ll be out of a job in 2017 so worry about that. Followed by getting picked up by United.
I then come to JetBlue and a few years in it’s your job is in jeopardy because of the pandemic….now it’s 2024 and it’s what we’re dealing with today. So maybe I have my head in the sand, but I choose not to worry about it. Maybe because it just falls on deaf ears after 12+ years in the industry. I can either make the best of this situation or move on to something else.
I'm in my third decade of this and I wish I had enough years left to justify jumping ship. I'm still doing the math on it though.
