To me it sounded more like a kid asking if they can turn in a book report next week... not because it's going to be Epic, but rather because it's only half finished.
As in, "they're still coming up with a Plan B" - which is exactly what Ursula said yesterday during the pocket session.
One thing this C-Suite is good at is crafting, spinning and protecting a very clever narrative in order to: boost morale/brainwash workgroups (including but not limited to Flight Deck), fool investers, strike fear in the hearts of competitors amongst other objectives. Now it need not be totally true but who cares if accomplishes the goal.

I'm not sure what this announcement will be but I know what it WILL NOT BE: Widebody aquisition, massive growth, and LAX to Hawaii.
