I've used Jepps since I got my first "Flight Guide" in 1990. I flew with a chart case full of 12 Binders. I thought my life was complete when they introduced Q-Service. When I got my first Commodore 64 of a Brick of POS, slow-a$$, constanly locking up EFB by Jenky Industries, I praised Allah. When I could get Jepps on my iPad, it was x-rated.
When everything I've known about charts for the last 34 years came crashing to a halt last summer, I went: "Well, shoot. That's, like, a bummer man." And I learned it and moved on.
If we bend an airplane because of LIDO, then you can call it garbage. Until then, it's just different.
x-rated. Ha! I got a good laugh. I felt the same way when we went EFB. Pure orgasmic not having to haul around the big ‘ol bag of cow hide and paper. Lido to me is like Chinese water torture. It’s not just something different I gotta get used to (which I thought was going to happen when we first got LIDO) but rather progressing annoying having to deal with the same frustrations every leg. How many of us who used paper back in the day wouldn’t even pull the chart out cuz it was such a pain? I kinda feel the same way about LIDO. Anyway, yeah I’m stuck with it but it doesn’t mean I can’t express my displeasure. Maybe we’ll go back to Jepp after the merger. 😄
