Regardless it's a small base with few vacancies. The likelihood of anyone else getting forced there is nonzero but really low.
As for bidding out, it's not uncommon for people to get a bid in training and never set foot in their awarded base.

Right, I can understand the forced widebody award or even forced captain award....but being forced to GUM seems a bit extreme...but at the end of the day I guess the company has to fill slots somehow
