highfarfast,
Yea, I figured the surgeon cartoon would generate some discussion. It's amazing how far behind the equivalent of CRM, threat management and basically recognizing the human factors that can lead to mistakes while working as a group still is. Shooting from the hip, I feel that in many hospitals, they are where the airline industry was in the mid 90's? A touchy subject. I have friends who are doctors and the "King Surgeon", like the King Captain that you do NOT question, from the days of old still exists. I do know there are medical facilities that are incorporating a lot of human factors and performance psychology into their work but it's not industry wide.

Wow, I've written more than I usually do. I'll tuck my soapbox away and go draw a crummy cartoon now.

And here's today's.
