MANY a pilot from previous decades have faced this exact dilemma, after years of being employed by once great airlines in the past that were once great jobs but were strategically mismanaged into insolvency.

I for one hope and pray that NK survives and thrives, becasue history shows that struggling airlines rarely just evaporate, it's proceded by an extended period of struggle and crisis mgmt in which fares/revenues are trashed (bringing pain to the whole industry) to bring in any $$$$ while they "burn the furniture to heat the house" and go after labor aggressively as desperate labor groups accept cuts in $$$ and QOL in an effort to "save the airline" and unfortunately the death spiral usually continues once it's initiated.
Well said. I’m probably gonna ride this ship to its grave or until it gets bad enough to switch, I’ve got the golden handcuffs. The longer I stay, the bigger the cushion of savings I’ll have if I do have to switch, if it comes to that. Of course by staying it’s a gamble and I’ll be giving up seniority at new airline. I’m expecting/hoping based on prior observations that it’ll work out in the end for Spirit. It’s a bit of a gamble either way, I’ll find out when I retire if I made the right call.
