Not absurd at all. The “culture” rolls downhill. We trained at the same building, did the same medical, hell I flew the KC-135 for the sim ride like they all did too. The TWA merger caused so much heartburn it flowed back down to Eagle. Sure, AA was way better. But being where we were with the perpetual carrot on a stick flow-through and unfortunate lost decade—sorry. AMR **** the bed for me.

And by the way, there are regionals currently paying mainline money. Times aren’t what they were back then. Even FedEx is recommending a regional to its current pilots.
