Something I’ve been thinking about lately in regards to the ULCCs is frequent fliers. Loyalty programs and frequent fliers bring a lot of money for the LCCs and legacies, and although this is anecdotal the couple of people I know that use Spirit religiously know the a la carte fees very well and stay well within only paying for their ticket. One guy I know goes to see his wife twice a month for a couple of days till they can both retire in the same city. He brings nothing on board and no bags at all since he has a second set of everything at their apartment.

I wonder if that’s the case with a lot of ULCC frequent fliers and if they don’t provide lower ancillary revenue than less frequent fliers that pick which extras they want and first timers that may not be familiar with the fee structure.
