Back then it was a very big deal for TWA pilots. About 10 years difference in seniority relative to the AA pilots. Plenty of senior CA got pushed to the right seat to fly with a newbie AA CA. The bottom big group of FO got furloughed.

The FA had it worse. Full staple job. Then every one got furloughed. 35 year TWA FA got furloughed. 7 month AA FA was not.
