Flew with him a couple times while he was planning this, almost two years ago. He said he did well with his money and that’s how he wanted to spend a large chunk of his nest egg. He figured at least several $100k. Recent word was closer to half a mil. He’s an interesting guy, always doing something. As was said, wrote a book about flying Vipers, finished the Boston Marathon at 60 on a completely torn hip, etc. OBTW, a good captain and great guy on the layo!
